You have never tasted anything like this easy Carnitas recipe with Caramelized Onion & Chipotle. The pork is so tender and flavorful with a subtle sweetness and smoky heat. This is my absolute favorite easy carnitas recipe and is a must-try! I love making these carnitas for summertime parties as the recipe makes a large amount.

Serve the carnitas in a warm corn or flour tortilla (or over a bed of rice) with diced onions, chopped cilantro, guacamole, and a squeeze of lime. And, a pitcher of your favorite margaritas, of course.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”#print%20recipe” button_text=”Jump to Recipe Card” button_alignment=”center” Simply complete steps 1-3 and then cook for 8 hours on low.

Once finished cooking, shred meat with two forks directly in the slow cooker (or take out, shred, and replace in sauce). It should fall apart easily.

Preheat broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the shredded meat on the cooking sheet and pour a few spoonfuls of sauce over the top.

Broil for 5-10 minutes or until you get browned edges on the pork.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”Instructions” _builder_version=”4.16″ background_image=”https://frostedkale.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/recipe_illustration_01-2.png” background_size=”initial” module_alignment=”center” min_height=”2899px” custom_margin=”150px||-134px|||” custom_padding=”5px||5px||true|” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row custom_padding_last_edited=”off|desktop” _builder_version=”4.16″ min_height=”151px” custom_margin=”-1px|auto|-39px|auto||” custom_margin_last_edited=”off|desktop” custom_padding=”||0px|||” custom_padding_tablet=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Title” module_id=”instructions” _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”||||||||” header_font=”||||||||” header_2_font=”Actor|600|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#727272″ header_2_font_size=”34px” header_3_font=”Actor|600|||||||” header_3_text_color=”#727272″ header_3_font_size=”34px” text_orientation=”center” custom_margin=”||15px|” animation_style=”fade” global_colors_info=”{}”]

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider color=”#cccccc” divider_weight=”2px” _builder_version=”4.16″ max_width=”80px” max_width_tablet=”150px” max_width_phone=”150px” max_width_last_edited=”off|desktop” module_alignment=”center” custom_margin=”||15px|” animation_style=”fade” animation_direction=”left” animation_starting_opacity=”100%” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ admin_label=”Instructions Row” _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_margin=”0px|auto||auto|false|false” custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.16″ text_font=”Montserrat|300|||||||” text_text_color=”#1e1e1e” text_font_size=”18px” text_line_height=”1.8em” link_font=”Montserrat|600|||on|||#8e9d97|” link_text_color=”#8e9d97″ header_font=”Actor||||||||” header_text_align=”center” header_5_font=”Actor||||||||” header_5_text_align=”center” header_5_font_size=”20px” header_5_line_height=”1.8em” custom_margin=”||0px|” custom_padding=”36px||36px|” animation_style=”fold” animation_direction=”bottom” animation_intensity_fold=”5%” animation_starting_opacity=”100%” border_color_all=”rgba(51,51,51,0.1)” border_width_bottom=”1px” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Combine the first 4 ingredients in a large zip-loc plastic bag; seal and shake to coat the pork.
