5 Dry Shampoos That are Actually Worth the Money

best dry shampoos, dry shampoo for blondes, dry shampoo for fine hair, dry shampoo that works, no residue dry shampoo

Washing your hair daily may seem like a good idea. Especially if you’re anything like me and enjoy a good sweat every day. However, daily washing may actually do more harm than good. Washing your hair often can actually strip it of its natural oils, making it drier and more brittle.

Not to mention the time wasted each morning in the shower, and even more post-shower styling. And I don’t know about you, but my hair looks the worst on the day I wash it (likely karma for something at some point).

That’s why dry shampoos are a godsend. I love a good dry shampoo and rely on them weekly (like, how many days can I go without washing?… challenge accepted).

But if you’ve tried one you’ve likely tried several, as it takes a bit of trial and error to find the right fit for your hair. Some even manage to make your hair look worse, leaving a residue on your scalp and strands.

Lucky for you, I’ve done the brunt of the work and have narrowed down the top dry shampoos that are actually worth a try. Treat your hair to one of these this week and give your shampoo the day off.

Best for All Hair Types: Batiste Dry Shampoo

Batiste Dry Shampoo 1

BUY ON AMAZON | $9.38

This is one of the most popular dry shampoos on the market, and for good reason. It does exactly what you need it to: refreshes hair, absorbs oil, and adds volume at the roots, all without a chalky residue. And it does all that at a very affordable price. It’s the best buy at this price point without question.

Best for Blondes: MorrocanOil Dry Shampoo Light Tones

Morrocanoil dry shampoo

BUY ON AMAZON | $26

This one has my favorite scent of those mentioned here. In fact, I’d use it for that alone. But it actually works wonders in addition to smelling insanely amazing. It contains ultra-fine rice starches to absorb oil and subtle violet undertones to banish brassiness. It comes in a Dark Tones version as well, which is excluded from this list only because I have not tried it myself. Brunettes click here.

Best for Odor Removal: Kevin Murphy Fresh Hair Dry Cleaning Spray

Kevin Murphy dry shampoo 1

BUY ON AMAZON | $42

Much like the MorrocanOil, this dry shampoo has an intoxicating scent. It smells like a creamsicle. It is very light and goes on sheer, leaving hair smelling better than if you’d washed it. It’s my go to for mornings after a night out or anytime I’m near smoke. It is on the pricey side, but worth it if your budget allows.

Best for Sensitive Scalp: Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

Klorane dry shampoo 1

BUY ON AMAZON | $29

The most gentle on the list, and my personal favorite (I use this every week), Klorane uses rice and corn starches to absorb oil and oat milk to soothe the scalp. It will not leave any build up in your hair and it smells great. What’s even better is that a little goes a long way with this one, so a bottle will last longer than some others. Just a few sprays and a quick massage and you’re good to go.

Best for Fine Hair: Virtue Refresh Dry Shampoo

Virtue Dry Shampoo 1

BUY ON AMAZON | $32

This dry shampoo is incredibly light. It leaves no residue behind but does a good job absorbing oil despite its clean, weightless spray. The scent is fresh with a hint of lemon. Perfect for those with finer hair who can’t take any additional weight, or for days when you just want the lightest refresher.
