Trader Joe’s Fish Tacos with Spicy Jalapeño Sauce
Ok, so Trader Joe’s Fish Tacos don’t technically exist. But this easy fish taco recipe is the next best thing! These fish tacos are a favorite on busy weeknights and the perfect weeknight recipe for a busy Taco Tuesday!
I call these Trader Joe’s Fish Tacos because these Fish Tacos with Spicy Jalapeño Sauce are made exclusively from Trader Joe’s products (see product info below). Like my Cheater Chicken Enchiladas (which could be called Trader Joe’s Frozen Taquito Enchiladas), this is a very easy semi-homemade recipe.
These Trader Joe’s Fish Tacos are crunchy, creamy, bright, and spicy! I serve them with refried pinto beans and, of course, plenty of tortilla chips & salsa!

Trader Joe’s Fish Tacos – Ingredients
- 1 package Trader Joe’s small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 box Trader Joe’s Battered Fish Nuggets (see photo)
- 1 bunch cilantro, chopped, divided
- 1 package Trader Joe’s green cabbage, pre-shredded
- Trader Joe’s Spicy Jalapeño Sauce (see photo)
- Guacamole (get recipe)
- 1-2 limes, sliced into wedges
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
In a small bowl, combine shredded cabbage and chopped cilantro (about a 1 to 0.5 ratio). Add the juice of half a lime and mix to combine. Set aside. Preheat oven and cook Fish Nuggets according to package instructions.
Step 2
While the fish cooks, make the Guacamole: combine 3 ripe avocados, about 1/4 cup diced red onion, half a jalapeño, diced, about 1/3 cup chopped cilantro, and juice of half a lime in a small bowl. Mash ingredients together with a fork. Salt and pepper to taste and add lime juice as needed.
Step 3
Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Place a tortilla in the pan and heat on each side for approximately 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
Step 4
When the fish is ready, place 2 fish nuggets in a warm tortilla. Top with guacamole, shredded cabbage mixture, and Jalapeño Sauce to taste. Serve with salsa and tortilla chips, and a side of refried beans!
